LNG is handled at cryogenic temperatures. Valves in the fuel system therefore need to maintain reliable operation and tight shut-off at these very low temperatures.

The inspection and maintenance requirements for LNG fuel system valves depend on the application, operating conditions and vessel maintenance schedule.

For LNG fuel system valves, our approved CRYOSEAL 2X reference identifies the following standards for the valve’s dimensions and connections:

  • ISO 5752 — end-to-end dimensions for the double-flanged type.
  • ISO PN 10/16/20/25/40/50 — specified end connections/pressure designations.
  • ANSI Class 150/300 — specified end connections/pressure classes
